"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen:
not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."
- C. S. Lewis
Adam Sinnett is lead pastor of Downtown Cornerstone Church in Seattle, WA. He is a native to the Northwest. Born in Seattle, he grew up in Olympia, but returned to attend the University of Washington. While at the UW, Adam met Jesus, his wife Jen, and earned two Bachelor degrees. He is currently completing his Masters degree in Biblical Studies through Reformed Theological Seminary. Adam and Jen have been married for over 10 years and can often be found adventuring around downtown with their three children. Prior to planting Downtown Cornerstone, Adam was actively involved in a local mega church for over a decade where he served in numerous roles, including as a pastor and Acts 29 Network Assistant Director. Adam's passion is to see the Gospel planted in the city of Seattle, rebels made into disciples of Jesus, and churches planted throughout the world.
The Gospel is God's message of good news; good news that Jesus Christ came to live, die and rise again for the forgiveness of sin to bring redeemed sinners under God's gracious reign for the (ultimate) renewal of all things. The Gospel brings us home to God for life that is truly life - every day. This good news changes everything and is for everyone.
To reach a city for Christ we not only need new Christians, we need new churches - lots of them. It takes many different kinds of churches to reach many different kinds of people, with the same Gospel. Tim Keller says it this way, "The vigorous continual planting of new congregations is the most crucial strategy for 1) the numerical growth of the Body of Christ in any city, and 2) the continual corporate renewal and revival of existing churches."
The city is a strategic center of spiritual, social and cultural influence. As the city goes, so goes the world. To influence the city we must live there, work there, play there and raise our families there. We're in the process of planting a church in the heart of downtown Seattle to bring the Gospel to bear in the every day and serve as the faithful presence of Christ - making God look as good as He really is.
